My settings

My settings are per-user preferences that control how VOW behaves for your account only. They are independent of organisation-wide configuration and do not affect other users. For organisation-wide preferences, see Settings | System.

Security

Settings governing how the platform protects your session and authenticates you to the rest of the system. Changes apply to your account only.

Password

Field	Description
Strength	A visual strength rating for your current password. Use it as a prompt to update your password if the rating is low.
Last changed	How long ago your password was last updated.

Change passwordAction

Opens a dialog to set a new password.

Click the Change password button to open a popup that will allow you to change your password. As you type your new password, the password strength indicator will update itself. The system will not accept a new password unless it reaches at least moderate strength.

Two-factor authentication

Reset 2FAAction

Clears your two-factor authentication so you can re-enrol.

Click the Reset 2FA button to clear your two-factor authentication information. A confirmation dialog will appear warning you that your current code will stop working. Confirm by clicking Reset and the next time you log in you will be prompted to scan a new QR code.

Session

Show session inactivity timerToggle

Display a countdown in the top right of the application.

When enabled, the system displays a countdown timer in the top right corner of the application. It indicates how long remains before the system will automatically log you out due to inactivity.

Play a sound when you're about to be logged outToggle

Audible warning shortly before automatic logout.

When enabled, the system will play a sound when it is about to log you out because you have not interacted with it in a while.

Integration

Settings for connecting VOW to external tools and companion applications.

API key

Your API key is used by the VOW Helper desktop application to authenticate its requests on your behalf. See VOW API key for more information.

Copy API keyAction

Copies your current API key to the clipboard.

Click the Copy button to copy your API key to the clipboard, then paste it into the VOW Helper application.

Regenerate API keyAction

Issues a new API key and invalidates the current one.

Click the Refresh button to generate a new API key. Your existing key will stop working immediately.

You will need to copy the new key into the VOW Helper so that it can continue to authenticate its requests.

VOW Helper version

VOW Helper versionInput

Switch between the legacy and current versions of the VOW Helper.

Select which version of the VOW Helper you want to use. Legacy is the original v1 helper and is only compatible with Windows. Current is the latest v2 release and supports multiple operating systems. If you switch versions you must have the appropriate application installed on your machine.

DownloadAction

Downloads the installer for the selected version of the VOW Helper

Click the Download to download the installer for the selected version. For the Current (v2) helper, the download is automatically matched to your operating system. The button will not appear if your OS cannot be detected. Run the installer to set up or update the VOW Helper.

App settings

These settings control how VOW appears and behaves for you.

Navigation sidebar

Compact linksToggle

Reduces the height of navigation links in the main sidebar.

When enabled, the links in the main navigation sidebar on the left of the application are displayed in a more compact style.

Show notification badgesToggle

Displays unread notification counts on sidebar items.

When enabled, sidebar navigation items show a badge indicating the number of unread notifications relevant to that section.

Valuation column view

Compact job cardsToggle

Reduces the size of job cards in the valuation column view.

When enabled, job cards in the valuation column view are displayed in a condensed format, allowing more cards to be visible on screen at once.

Quotes

Use legacy filtersToggle

Switches the quotes list back to the older filter interface.

When enabled, the quotes list uses the previous filter layout instead of the current one. Enable this if you prefer the older interface.

VOW Maps

Limit VOW Maps to open in a single browser tabToggle

Prevents VOW Maps from opening multiple tabs.

When enabled, VOW Maps will reuse the same browser tab each time it is opened rather than creating a new one.

Time keeping

Time tracker always visible in title barToggle

Pins the time tracker to the application title bar.

The time tracker badge is always shown in the title bar when a timer is running. When this setting is enabled, the badge remains visible even when no timer is running, so you can start a timer directly from the title bar without navigating to the Time keeping section. This also makes it easier to create unlinked time entries.

Hourly rateInput

Your default rate charged to clients for time spent on jobs.

Enter the hourly rate you charge clients for time spent on jobs. This rate is applied by default to all time entries but can be overridden on an individual entry. See Time Keeping for details.

Emails

Identity used when the platform sends emails on your behalf.

Field	Description
Sender name	The name that appears in the From field of emails sent by the system on your behalf.
Reply-to address	The email address that recipients will reply to.

Email signatureAction

Opens a dialog to edit the signature appended to outgoing emails.

Click the Edit button to open the signature editor. Enter your signature, applying any formatting as needed, then click Save to keep your changes.

Job form

Settings that control how the job address form is presented when creating or editing a job.

Show property name as first field on address formToggle

Moves the property name field to the top of the address form.

When enabled, the property name field appears as the first field on the address form rather than after the street address.
