Roles
Roles define a selected set of permissions. Each role contains the set of permissions necessary to perform a specific type of role within an organisation. Users are regularly assigned one or more roles to allow them to perform their tasks.
Administrators can create or remove roles as needed.
The tables below describe the current list of permissions and describe how they are used.
List data & default values

| Delete items from system lists | User has permission to delete items from system lists. |
| Create new system list items | User has permission to add items to the system lists. |
| Print system list reports | User can print system lists. |
| View the system lists tab and the default values tab | User can view see the system lists and default values in the Settings. |
| Edit system list items and default values | User can change items in the system lists and their default values. |
Properties

| View properties | User can view individual properties. |
| Edit properties | User can update information related to properties. |
Quotes
| Permission | Description |

| Delete quotes | User can delete quotes from Quotes. |
| Set quote amounts | User enter quote amounts when editing quotes. |
| Create quotes | User can create quotes in Quotes. |
| View quotes page | User can navigate to the Quotes list. |
| Download/Print quotes | User can download and print quotes (when print functionality is available). |
| View quotes | User can click quotes to open them in a popup or in a new tab. |
| Sign off on quotes | User can mark quotes as acceptable and ready to send from the quote editor. |
| Edit quotes | User can update existing quotes. |
Roles security

| Assign roles to users | User edit other user accounts in Settings | Users and update the roles they have. |
| Delete user-created roles | User can remove roles that have been added to the system by users from Settings | Roles. |
| Create new roles | User can create new roles in Settings | Roles. |
| Print role reports | User will be able to generate reports when they're available. |
| View the role settings tab and role details | User can navigate to the Settings | Roles page and open the roles. |
| Update roles | User can save changes to roles. |
Reporting

Sales

| Attach documents to sales | Obvious. |
| Delete sales | User can delete analysed sales. Sales imported from the VG cannot be deleted. |
| Create new sales | User can analyse sales. |
| Print sale reports | User can export sales to CSV or PDF. |
| View and search for sales | Obvious. |

System

| Manage email templates | User is permitted to update email templates in the system settings. |
| View event logs | User is permitted to see event logs throughout the system. |
| Is a valuer role | Users with this role will appear in lists of valuers. |
| Send free-typed emails from within the system | Users can send emails using the email editor. |
| Not permitted to sign in | Users with this role will not be able to log into the system. However, they can appear in lists and associated with jobs. |
| See the reports menu | Users with this role can access the reporting page. |
| See the sale menu item | Users with this role can access the sales page. |
| See the settings menu | Users with this role can access the settings page. |
| View the system settings tab | Users with this role can access the system settings. |
| Update the system settings | Users with this role can update the system settings. |

Valuations
| Permission | Description |
|---|---|
| Unlock files being edited by other users | When a user edits an attached file by clicking the button, the file is marked as locked. A user generally can't unlock files locked by other users, but assigning this permission to a user's role allows them to do that. |
| Delete invoices | Obvious. |
| Create and update invoices | Obvious. |
| Change invoice dates | Users with this role can edit the date of an invoice, allowing for backdating. |
| View and search other users' valuations | Generally, users can only see valuations that they're involved in. This permission gives them the ability to see all valuations. |
| Edit other users' valuations | Generally, users can only edit valuations that they're involved in. This permission gives them the ability to edit all valuations. |
| Attach documents to valuations | Obvious. |
| Delete valuations | Obvious. |
