Understanding the dashboard
On logging into VOW, the first page you see is the Dashboard. To start with, the Dashboard consists of a single panel that provides a summary of the current data in the system.
Panel content
The contents of the panels are described in the Reference manual Dashboard page.
Task summary panel
The task summary panel is one of the most useful panels on the dashboard. It shows every outstanding task assigned to you, grouped into four urgency buckets: Overdue, Due today or tomorrow, Later, and No due date.
The three counters at the top of the panel give you an overview of how many tasks need your attention and when. Clicking a counter expands the corresponding bucket so you can see which jobs are involved.
Clicking any task row takes you directly to that job and highlights the relevant task.
For full details on what the panel shows and how to configure it, see the Task summary reference page.
Working with panels
Dashboard panels can be:
- Moved using the button
- Resized using the handle (in the bottom-right corner of each panel).
- Customised using the button.
You can show and hide panels by ticking and unticking items in the Panels menu at the top of the page.
Introducing panel layouts
The panels can be moved, resized and organised into different layouts.
To learn how to create and manage panel layouts, see Working with panels.
