Editing documents
VOW stores your attachments in the cloud, so you can't just open them in Word or Excel the way you would for files on your computer. VOW provides several ways to work around this, depending on what you're editing and which desktop applications you use.
VOW Helper
A small desktop application that runs on your computer and bridges the gap between VOW and your native editors (Word, Excel, etc.). You click the edit button in VOW, and the helper downloads the file, opens it in the right application, and uploads your changes back to VOW when you save and close.
See VOW Helper for install and usage.
Using the original Windows-only helper? See the legacy helper guide. We recommend upgrading to the current helper when convenient — it works on Windows, macOS, and Linux.
VOW Tools Word Add-in
A Word plug-in that lets you insert and update VOW data directly from within a Word document — useful for building and editing valuation report templates.
See Word Add-in for setup and usage.
